Too many energy drinks are a bad idea. If you do consume more than two energy drinks at a time, it can cause serious side effects. Some side effects can include increased urination, irritability, nervousness, stomach problems, and sleeplessness. Additionally, energy drinks have been connected to reports of feeling sick or nauseous, emergency rooms visits, and some heart abnormalities. Most importantly, energy drinks can cause seizures because of the “crash” that is caused after the “energy high” from drinking. There are just too many downsides to that second helping of energy drink to make it a good idea. Energy drinks are not bad unless you drink too many. Drink them only if you need an extra enhancement for a short amount of time.
Red Bull is one of the most popular Energy Drinks. Within 130 countries in the year 2006, a total of more than three billion cans of Red Bull were sold. Because of its stimulant effects, red Bull has become increasingly popular within the United States. Even though it is popular, it does have negative effects that can be harmful. It is meant to boost mental and physical activity, but the increase in metabolism is not a desired effect for long time periods. Red Bull is banned from being sold in some countries due to the high levels of caffeine that are present within the product and the health concerns that are connected to the drink. If you like the boost you get from Red Bull, drink it as a “sometimes” drink. Never drink two cans in one sitting, and try to limit your consumption of Red Bull to one can a week. Remember, everything in moderation!Thursday, January 22, 2009
Don't Be Bullish About Red Bull
Energy drinks are soft drinks that are publicized as giving you a boost. The main ingredient of soft drinks is caffeine, the same ingredient that is found in coffee and tea. Energy drinks are not a horrible choice of beverage if you do not drink them in an excessive amount. If you have an energy drink every once in a while to give you an extra boost, you should not expect to have any serious health problems. Think of energy drinks as “sometimes” drinks, not “everyday” drinks. Moderation is one of the keys to healthy eating!
